Stay With Him!

At first it seems an easy path
To follow Jesus every day.
We feel his love and awesome strength
Sustain us as we make our way.
This bliss and happy state will fade
As storms come to our mortal life.
It’s seems as though we’re left behind
Alone in life to deal with strife.
He is always there for us
To lift and succor every child.
He gently calls, come follow me
His heart is tender and so mild.
Troubled times will never cease
Because this life is our big test.
If we choose to stay with Him
We’ll surely get God’s very best.
His hands are always stretched out still
Waiting for a sweet embrace.
The love He has for each of us
Comes from His sweet eternal grace.

Someday all pain will have an end
And joy will fill our mended hearts.
The only thing that we must do
Is stay with Him, He’s done his part.

Daddy’s Day

Daddy came in from the fields
With tired legs and dirty hands.
He's been up since the crack of dawn
Showing how to be a man.

He spent his days out at the shop
Fixing up the things that broke.
That is where he found his niche
He did his work and rarely spoke.

He taught his children how to work
Sometimes he was a little rough.
He did the best with what he knew
Which made his children really tough.

Daddy loved his family dear
All that he did, he did for them.
His love of God took center stage
He taught us of the Savior’s hem.

Someday soon we’ll reunite
In heaven’s golden fields of wheat.
To never be apart again
And worship at The Savior’s feet.

Best Friends

Long before this life began

We stood together hand in hand.

You came first to prepare the way,

I had to wait, so we'd meet someday.

The life you had before we met,

Prepared you for the best life yet.

You weathered storms with awesome charm,

So someday we'd be arm in arm.

You like to call me your shining knight

Tis you who brought the glorious light.

It blesses all who you have met,

Including both your loving pets.

You have made my life complete,

Filled with joy you make it sweet.

I do not wish it ever end,

Together we'll forever spend.

The love you show our children dear,

Teaches them that God is near.

Your blessed name they'll not forget,

For they're forever in your debt.

You have been my greatest friend,

And that, my love, will never end.

That's the beauty of His plan,

Our families to forever span.

The day will come that you'll be crowned,

Free from trial no longer bound.

You and I again will stand,

With our children, hand in hand.

Love you always, Marion

Angel From Heaven

An angel came down from Heav'n above,

Full of joy and God's pure love.

The day she came was four-sixteen,

The month of April, pure and clean.

The oldest of her siblings three,

Paving their way to be free.

Making it through trials every day,

You learned to kneel and clearly pray.

Your love of Jesus, to you would bring,

The gospel that would make you sing.

You knew it was a new found life,

Full of truth and sometimes strife.

To California you would go,

Following a path that God did show.

You taught His children of his son,

And even had some time for fun.

She met her prince on day twenty-two,

Of April eighty-six, and skies of blue.

Knotts Berry Farm took center stage,

While angels wrote it on their page.

Two years later to the day,

This angel joined her prince to stay.

Chicago was the place to be,

The day this angel was set free.

You have been my greatest gift,

You love and love and always lift.

A savior of many you have become,

Eternity with God is your outcome.

I am blessed to call you mine,

Forever with you for all time.

Your posterity will call you blessed.,

For you are the very best.

Merry Christmas my angel sweet,

I love you with a heart replete.

Never from your side will I depart,

For what we have is just a start.

-Love You Always, Rico

Beautiful Birthday Girl

Some would say, I don't agree

That getting old is not for me.

I'm so glad this day is here

It means you've lasted all these years.

Time has been so kind to you

You look as though you're twenty-two.

You're beautiful and you're all mine

Inside and out, your beauty shines.

Remember all the years gone by

At times life made you laugh and cry.

Good and bad have come your way

You chose God's path and there you'll stay.

You have become my closest friend

That's how I feel and that won't end.

I cherish all these years we've shared

You've always loved and always cared.

Look ahead with grace and charm

We'll be together arm in arm.

I love you more now than before

With you I hope for fifty more.

25th Anniversary

April twenty second came,

The year was nineteen eighty eight.

Our lives would never be the same.

Our covenants made would keep us straight.

Sealed with holy priesthood power,

Our eternal family had begun.

Life was sweet and some times sour.

We trusted God's beloved son.

Children came to bless our home.

One then two, soon there were seven.

Within our walls they all would roam.

Turning home into heaven.

Through our trials we have learned,

God our Father's always near.

Our humble hearts to God have turned.

The path to him becomes so clear.

Missions came to our three sons.

They left as boys, returned as men.

Selfless service taught them tons.

Lives were changed again and again.

Marriage came to the oldest two.

Blessed to marry their best friend.

Baby feet in a baby shoe,

Grandchildren are the greatest send.

You're my best friend and greatest love.

At my side you have always stayed.

My precious gift from heaven above,

You were the one for whom i prayed.

pray for twenty five more years.

They came and went so very fast.

I want to have more laughs and tears.

'Cause life with you has been a blast.

Happy Brithday Mom!

Ninety years have come and gone
Along with joy and sorrow too.
Twelve children came into your home
You bound us all just like a glue.
The years were almost always kind
But there were times the tears did flow.
You kept your eyes fixed on the Christ
So eternal life you’d surely know.
Ninety years seems oh so short
When love is all you are about.
You spent your life serving all
Always helping others out.
This birthday that we celebrate
Is just a token of our love.
You are our world and loving mom
For you we thank Him up above!

Who signs your paycheck?

Every day we make a choice
To follow dark or endless light.
Some of the choices don’t seem grand
But they can make our path just right.

Do I help my brother out
Or just pretend I didn’t know.
Will I seek out those to serve
To help their fires start to glow.

Do I strive to learn God’s word
Or waste my time on worldly trash.
Will I strengthen my physical form
Or shop online spending cash.

We have been blessed to understand
God is the only way to joy.
The adversary seeks his own,
Misery, pain and to destroy.

Seek the master who rewards
The faithful with eternal life.
Reject the other one who lies
You’ll then be rid of grief and strife.

The paycheck Satan gives to us
Is worthless pay, he knows he’s done.
We must put faith in Him above
Our paychecks signed by God’s own Son

D-Day tribute.

Eighty years ago this day
Mere children stormed a sandy beach.
They fought against an evil foe
So freedom could be within reach.

Landing crafts released their men
Many men never left the boats.
Machine gun fire came without end
Bullets tore through their soggy coats.

All the rest pressed on and on
The cause of freedom in their heart.
Chaos and death came fast and strong
But each man fought to do his part.

Angels carried them all home
To their eternal rest with God.
Their blood was spilled so we may live
Never forget the path they trod.

The day will come not too far off
When we will meet these valiant men.
Tears will run from grateful eyes
As we thank them with grand amens.

All of what they did for us
They did with pure humility.
We must go forward with that faith
So all may live, and all live free.

He Prayed For Me

He knelt beneath the olive tree
To take upon a world of sin.
He prayed and suffered for all men
For each of us and all our kin.

Willingly he did all this
So we one day could all return.
Not only did he suffer so
He did for us what we can’t earn.

Three times he called out “Father please
Is there any other way?
Not my will but thine be done
He took all sins and he did pay!

I only can imagine Him
Kneeling, bleeding just for me.
I know my face he saw that night
I heard Him pray and for me plea.

His love for us is for all time
Our hearts should always seek his will.
His grace and mercy save us all
Because His mission, he did fulfill.

In Memory Of The Fallen

I left my home at seventeen
To see a world I’d never seen.
The fighting took a giant toll
On my heart and on my soul.

Young and old, it spared no one
The war waged on, it wasn’t done.
Many sons left their moms behind
To get through life, almost blind.

Many friends died protecting life
This war seems like unending strife.
For freedom I will give it all
So all can live free and tall

Do not mourn my sacrifice
I’d do it twice even thrice.
But even that is not quite true
I’d do it every time for you.

Now I rest in Flanders field
With loving heart my soul is filled
Someday I’ll see you all again
Without the sorrow and the pain

Remember all we paid for you
Be the same in all you do.
Nothing matters more to me
Than for all men to be free.

Angel Mother

Before your life began on earth
You stood with God and knew his plan.
Blessed you were with a mother pure
Your Father, he was a righteous man.

The veil had taken from your mind
Your twelve children waiting in line.
One by one they all would come.
You taught them well so they’d be fine.

You filled our home with love and bread
That was how we knew you cared
We always knew you were there
Your heart with us was always shared.

Each child came with a different view
Especially crazy number eight.
He made you laugh and made you cry
But you would always set him straight.

What a blessed life you have
A family tree that has no end.
Generations will revere
Because your faith did never bend.

This life was meant to be a test
A test of Faith and Charity.
You’ve done all that He asked of you
Without complaint that we could see.

The day will come when you will kneel
At your Savior’s holy feet;
Your mission finished faithfully,
Your test is done; it is complete.

The Father's Gift

Many, many years ago
Our Father sent His only son
From His home in heav’n above
Our Savior came to be The One.
The first place that he lay his head
Was a manger made of stone.
Angels came and did proclaim
A bright new star, the way had shone.
Wise men came to see their king.
Trav’ling far for many days.
Treasures they did bring for him
They fell to earth and began to pray.
This young boy grew up clean and pure
He only did His Fathers will
Many would not heed his words.
Which led him up on Calvary’s hill
Three days his body in the tomb
But now risen from His grave.
He paid full price for everyone.
All His love for us he gave.
Now he asks us all to share
The love he gave to humankind.
As we follow Him each day
His perfect peace we’ll always find

My Blessed Wife

For sixty years the world’s been blessed
By your acts of God’s pure love.
You put the needs of others first
A gift you brought from heaven above.

Each day you strive for a better way
Ridding your life from daily strife
You place your trust in Jesus Christ
For He’ll grant you eternal life.

Thirty six short years ago
You chose to give yourself to me
‘Twill always be my greatest day
We began our journey to be free!

For many years you suffered so
This only made you who you are.
With Jesus Christ you’ve overcome
And now you are a shining star.

This shining star that you’ve become
Will someday turn into a sun.
The trust you’ve placed into God’s hand
Will lead you to His only Son

You are the Dawn of my every day
Filling my soul with rays of light.
I wish for you to understand
With you I’ll reach celestial heights!

Your legacy will last all time
For you did choose eternity.
Your focus is always sure and fixed
Upon the Savior and on me.

I’m grateful that you’ve been with me
For all these years of ups and downs
We’ve eons left of time to use
To count our blessings not our frowns.

So on this blessed birthday day
I honor you my blessed wife
May God send His choicest gifts
For you, my love, are my whole life!

Mother's Love

Mother’s Day comes once a year
A day of joy with many tears.
Mothers give all that they are
So her children reach the stars.
Mothers bring God’s children here
To teach them love, but never fear.
Mother’s love is the purest kind
The closest to God’s you’ll ever find!

Filling the Holes

The first day on this bless’ed earth
Begins a struggle for each one.
We started whole and full of joy
But as is life, it’s not all fun.

We strive do do our very best
Many times we’ll miss the mark.
It seems our lives are full of holes
And life appears so dim and dark.

The one who wishes you great harm
Would love for you to give up hope
Light will always conquer dark
Look up to God for strength to cope.

The master healer paid full price
To fill the holes and heal the pain.
These promised blessings will all come
As sure as rainbows follow rain.

Hold on to arms stretched out to you
In them you’ll find your power true.
His perfect love and perfect strength
Guarantees you make it through!

Father’s Perfect Plan

The day we left our Father’s home
Was filled with joy and many tears.
We did not know what was in store
Our faith was greater than our fears.

Born into many different lands
Many would not know His Son
Father promised all a chance
To learn of His Begotten one.

For this reason, many are sent
Two by two, around the globe.
Teaching Gods love to each dear child
With faith just as the prophet Job.

As Father’s  work will surely grow
There will be those who will not hear.
The fields are white for harvest time.
Be wheat not tares, that much is clear.

Storms will come into our lives
To test our faith and our resolve.
If we choose to follow Christ
All of our problems that will solve.

The day will come when life is done
This test we’ve had is over now.
With heads held high we honor Him
All praise to him, that is our vow.

All that He has, He gives to us
His promised gift for faithfulness.
Forever we will spend with Him
His mighty name we’ll ever bless!

Gratitude

Each day I wake up with a grateful heart
Hoping to do my own little part.
Choosing to look for the good in my life
Removes from my heart a lot of the strife.

The maker of all is thankful for you
For you are his child and forever that’s true.
Be grateful for all, the good and the bad
That change in your heart makes you forever glad.

Remember to seek for the good in us all
It helps us be strong and to stand up tall.
The day of return for each does approach
To stand before God sans any reproach

My Friend, My God

Jesus Christ is the son of God
Who came to earth, for us, to die.
He lived his life to lead us home
Back to our God and home on high.

He has heard my every prayer
And answers them in his perfect way.
Some answers are not clear to me
Which grows my faith every day.

He only asks that we follow him
And be a light to all we see.
Serving others brings true joy
Then we become all we can be.

Pain and sorrow always come
As well as peace and godly love,
We only have to seek for it
To feel the love from God above.

He is the promised prince of peace
Who’ll come again and end all pain.
Stay faithful to the Lord of Lords
And heaven’s glory you will gain.

The Race for Relatives

Children come to earth each day
Not knowing what their life will hold
Many of them will take a path
A path that just may lead to gold.

These souls who felt that they were lost
Keep looking for a familiar face.
With help from angels near and far
The search for kin becomes a race.

Day by day the search goes on
And one by one each child is found.
Healing wounds and aching hearts
The angels rarely make a sound.

They work and work till all is spent
And do the same the very next day.
The angels know that is their task
Put families back again to stay.

Lives are now forever changed
For someone gave their heart and soul.
Restoring what was once a dream
Like lifting gold from a darkened hole.
