Happy 250th birthday America!

 

July fourth Seventeen Seventy Six

We, our freedom, would declare.

King George did not have a clue

Of what was brewing in the air.

A rag tag army barely fed

Trusted in their God above

They knew that he would fight for them

And save this country they did love.

Many men died for this great land

They knew their sacrifice was not vain.

Many miracles came their way

In the midst of so much pain.

General Washington took a knee

Beside his horse on frozen ground.

He plead with God to bless his men

And in his favor they would be found.

The day did come and war did end.

God had preserved this chosen land.

Now it is up to us to keep.

Our faith in God and for Him stand!

Our constitution is divine

It declares our godly rights.

We must do all that we can

To keep it safe and in the light.

Our country is the greatest land

For freedom is the greatest gift.

God has saved us many a time

So others we must help and lift.

We must turn back to our God

Or we'll become as Rome of old.

His blessings come to those who trust

Stand with Christ, we must be bold.

Two Hundred and Fifty years.

Have passed us by since that great day.

I hope that we have many years left

In this chosen land, I pray!

 

Jesus Knew!

 
Long before his sacred birth
Our Lord and Savior knew the plan.
All the prophets testified
That Jesus was the Son of Man.

Every sacred sacrifice
Of every lamb, so clean and pure.
It was a symbol of Gods love
Because His love for us was sure.

Everything that Jesus did
Was out of love for you and me.
The only mission in this life
He made it so we could be free.

He suffered all so we would live
And be cleansed from all our sin.
And all he asks from each of us
Come follow me and let me in.

He knew he had to give his life
That was the plan he would fulfill.
In the garden he did bleed
From every pore his blood did spill.

Nailed upon the cross he cried
Why hast thou forsaken me?
He had to do it all alone
So from death and sin we’re free.

Friday night he’s in the tomb
The world is mourning violently.
Storms and fire cover the earth
For its creator died, you see.

Sunday came with perfect light
As Jesus Christ rose from the grave.
He knew it had to be this way
He came to love and us to save!

We’ll shout hosannas to his name
Forever praise His perfect love.
Love each other as he loved
So we can live with God above!

I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

The devil makes the world seem grand
With all its riches to behold.
The part he never lets you know
That joy can never come from gold.

A house filled to the brim with gold
Will create in you an empty heart.
Gold and silver don’t satisfy
For like all things, from you they part.

I’ll never trade my Savior’s love
For things that spoil and surely rot.
I seek treasure of eternal worth
That I may gain a heavenly plot.

Pain

 

From the time that we are born

We feel the love of many souls.

With love comes sorrow, none untouched

Everyone will pay that toll.

For this you see is the great plan

It never was to be pain free.

Pain can point us to the truth

That God is there for you and me.

Amidst the sorrow and the tears

In God we need to always trust.

His ways we may not understand

But faith in Him’s a sacred must.

Pain is the currency of love

We all will pay to feel alive.

Love is worth each drop of pain

For pure love we each must strive.

Light vs Darkness

 

Before the world was brought to life

We held a council in heav’n above. 

One older Brother sought God’s throne

But God chose Jesus out of love. 

Lucifer, now fallen, was cast out

He sought to destroy man’s agency. 

He’ll never take on human form

Nor those that followed him, you see. 

Don’t ever think the war is done 

Satan fights each day against the light. 

He wants nothing more for you 

Than you to lose your spiritual sight.

He spreads his lies through every means

In hopes that we will take his side. 

It seems as though he’s winning big

But Jesus Christ has turned the tide!

We must stand firm with all our might 

And fight against the evil one. 

As long as we are yoked with Christ

He will sustain us, everyone. 

The day is coming, not far off

When Christ will reign with truth and love. 

What a glorious day for all

When Christ returns from heav’n above. 

Satan will lose all his pow’r

As Jesus Christ becomes our king. 

So hold on to your precious faith

Shout his name, his praises sing!

Saved For This Time

 

Each of you stood firm and strong

Against the devil and his wrong.

You begged the Father for this time

So you could come to earth and shine.

I believe with all my heart

You knew the risks right from the start.

That only made your choice more sure

Your spirits were all clean and pure.

Now you’re here on planet earth

Striving to recall your worth.

I know you all to do your best

I have faith you’ll pass the test.

Remember what you came here for

That will guide you ever more.

You have within you power divine

One day you’ll hear that “You are mine”

God will never forsake you

Regardless of what you may do.

He wants us all to come back home

When we’ve finished here to roam.

The day will come when you will see

You’re now who you were meant to be.

Your hearts will fill with godly love

As you return to home above.

Heaven Opened Once Again

 

In the spring of eighteen twenty

So many churches teaching plenty.

Confusion ruled the day and night

A young boy needs to know what’s right.

James tells us to ask without a doubt

And God will help us find truth out.

And if we ask with a pure heart

God will show us where to start.

This young man knew he could just ask

He set out on this humble task.

Into a sacred grove of trees

Young Joseph fell down to his knees.

His first prayer came from deep within

As evil tried to do him in.

He prayed with all the strength he had

A pillar of light removed the bad.

God the Father and His Son

Appeared to Joseph , brighter than sun.

They called him by his given name

Dear Joseph you have brought no shame.

Which church teaches thy true word?

I want share and just be heard.

The answer came and pierced his mind

None of them , for they’re all blind.

Joseph Smith was called that day

To be a prophet, that I say!

His life from that day was intense

For what he taught made perfect sense.

God and Jesus taught him well

Sending angels with truths to tell.

Moroni in September came

Joseph would never be the same.

Moroni told of plates of gold

That told of God’s forgotten fold.

The Book of Mormon is for all

I know it’s true so I stand tall.

The gospel has been now restored

At its head is The True Lord.

Never to be lost again

Heaven speaks, that will not end.

All of this I know is true

It’s on my heart like morning dew.

My God has blessed me with so much

I hope someday, His wounds to touch!

Playing with Fire

 

At first it seems so innocent 
When that first request is sent.
But what you see is nothing pure
Of that I am so very sure. 

Then the dopamine hits hard
And it makes you drop your guard. 
Now you’re digging a deep hole 
One that will destroy your soul. 

Shame and guilt then enter in
Guilt can help, shame makes you spin. 
You must find someone to talk to
And pray until you make it through. 

It is a tough road that’s for sure
But with the Lord, we can be pure. 
When you fall, get up once more
And God will show you what’s in store. 

Rest assured you’re not alone 
For your sins Christ did atone. 
He waits for you so patiently
For with him you will be set free. 

Nigh at Hand

 

The time is now to choose your side

To follow Christ or evil pride.

Prophets all have testified

That all will have their faith be tried.

We all knew life would be this tough

That many things would make it rough.

Many children are deceived

Forgetting all they have received.

The only way to win the day.

Look up to God and with him stay.

He has promised all he has

If we this earthly test do pass.

Even when the souls of hell

Tempt you with the lies they tell.

Their evil ways will be revealed

And Satan will be bound and sealed.

Faith is key in all we do

For fear can never get us through.

Trust the Father and the Son

They will help us to be one.

The second coming of our Lord

Will reveal the faith we’ve stored.

Great and dreadful it will be

For evil ends ,that, you will see.

Eye Single To His Glory

 

Every day brings with it choice

To follow evil or God’s Son.

The world will tie you up in knots

And make you think you are no one.

Keep your eyes upon The Christ

For He was lifted up for all.

In the garden and the cross

He rescued all from Adam's fall.

Chaos rules so many lives

Like smoke and mirrors, it hides the truth.

The only sure way to survive

Trust in Jesus, the perfect sleuth.

We have trusted man too much

Man can’t save us from the war.

We must remember who to trust

I know that’s God ,down to my core.

He sent us here to do his will

We only need to find that out.

Never will he forsake us

His name will I forever shout.

As the coming days unfold

Evil may seem like it’s won.

That is the biggest lie of all

For Vict’ry’s in God’s only Son!

Windows of Heaven

 

God asked Malachi long ago

Why have my people robbed me so?

Why do they hold their goods from me

Where is their faith that sets them free?

Have I not promised blessings sure

Like rain from Heaven clean and pure.

There would not be sufficient room

For blessings giv’n will surely bloom.

God will send forth heaven’s light

He opens windows, sends what’s right.

Any offering we sacrifice

Will make a life a little more nice.

Tithing opens windows holy

And revelation comes, you’ll see.

Faith increases when we give

And God, our sins, he will forgive.

All we have comes from God’s hand

Without Him we could never stand.

Eternal blessings will be yours

As fires of hell pass by your doors.

Look to Him

 

You looked to him before your birth

You knew your purpose and your worth.

You felt His love with all your heart

Which helps you want to do your part.

You looked to him with your first cry

As your mom your tears did dry.

The light of Christ is in your smile

He’ll walk with you for many a mile.

You looked to Him throughout your life

In all the worry and the strife.

Especially when things went right

You kept His glory in your sights.

Look to Him as children do

They love and worship Him so true.

Their hearts are pure and full of love

That’s why they look to heav’n above

Look to Him forever more

So someday you’ll walk through His door.

As long we stay firm and strong.

Yoked with Him you cant go wrong.

It Matters Not

 

It matters not what men will say

From God’s sure path I will not stray.

He is our Father in Heaven above

Who sent His son to save with love.

I do not worship mortal man

But God with His most perfect plan.

Jesus Christ His son was born

To save us from this life forlorn.

Joseph Smith was foreordained

To be the prophet all sustained.

As a boy he sought to know

He knelt to pray in the sacred grove.

In response to his simple prayer

God and Jesus came to him there.

He asked of God which church was true

God’s answer shocked him through and through.

All men's churches do not seek

My will to do, nor are they meek.

Their hearts are not fixed on my Son

With me they don’t seek to be one.

The Book of Mormon does testify

That Jesus Christ will Purify.

Two witnesses we need for truth

The Bible is the first of two.

God has opened heaven again

And chosen prophets among men.

They speak with God to show the way

May we heed their words I pray.

Jesus Christ restored His Church

From His holy, heavenly perch.

His priesthood power has been restored

To do the work of our King and Lord

These things I know apart from men

I’ll say them now and more again.

God’s Holy Spirit taught my soul

And with my life I’ll pay the toll.

Peacemakers

 

If there ever was a time

To seek for peace, the time is now.

Satan seems to be in charge

As he puts on an evil show.

Division, hate and cruel intent

Rule the lives of many men.

The only way to cure these ills

Is to love our fellow man again.

Do not seek a worldly peace

For it won’t last more than a day.

The peace that Jesus offers us

Will in our hearts forever stay.

Make the effort to be kind

And love each other without shame.

This simple act of a loving heart

Reminds us of His sacred name.

Those who choose to follow Christ

Pick up their cross and follow him.

You will not carry it all alone

You’ll not be left out on a limb.

Bless’ed are the peace makers

For they become a child of God.

The gospel is prepared with peace

And with that peace our feet are shod.
