Bridging The Distance

Each choice we make in this great life

Will bring us peace or bring us strife.

One voice wants us to obey

And the other not to pray.

As we choose the righteous path

We see God’s perfect simple math.

He takes our efforts in His heart

And makes it a much greater part.

If we choose to follow sin

Oh the sorrow we’ll be in.

That crooked path leads to much pain

And you realize there is no gain.

The beauty of God’s perfect plan

He sent His son, the Son of Man

He came to earth to save us all.

From sin and pain and from the Fall.

With His eternal sacrifice

A bridge He built with that price.

With humble hearts and bended knee

We’ll cross that bridge and with Him plea.

Please accept this offer of mine.

My heart is yours for all time.

Forever grateful I will be

That you sent Your Son for me.

A Queen of Angels

She was the first one to be born

On a beautiful April morn.

She chose to follow her kind heart

She followed Christ and did her part.

To serve God’s children was her choice

It helped her find God’s perfect voice.

He told her “I will find your prince”

She never looked back ever since.

Seven times she endured pain

To bring His children without stain.

She loved them with a heart of gold

And taught them to be pure and bold!

She’s now “Grammy” to many souls

And they have filled so many holes.

Her joy is full in many ways

She holds fast to the rod and stays!

One day she’ll see her godly worth

That she’s had since her perfect birth.

Her family is her greatest joy

That started when she chose a boy!

She was an angel at her  birth

The day she came to stay on earth.

She has kept her promise sure

A godly angel sweet and pure!

Be Faithful, Even When!

Search the scriptures front to back
Search each word and do not slack.
One thing for sure that you will find
God is not dead nor is he blind.
He sees each one of us each day
And for our joy he always prays.
Tribulations always come
They help us see who we come from.
Being free from pain and grief
Would help you feel a great relief.
But that is not how we learn best
We learn and toil to pass the test.
The measure of God’s lasting love
Would fill the heavens high above.
Don’t ever doubt his love for you
It’s always there and always true.
So when the trials rain down fast
Look up to God and you will last.
Pain will surely one day end
So stay the course and do not bend!

Being faithful never meant
That we’d be free from serious dents.
His only son went through it all
He rescued us from Adam’s fall.

Secret Santa

He does this every Christmas time

He shows his love with his own dime.

Fam’lies who need to know they’re loved

Are given gifts from heav’n above.

He does all this without a name

He wants no honor neither fame.

His reward is only joy

For he is in God’s sweet employ.

Many others help this work

They love to help and do not shirk.

Bringing smiles and many tears

The happiness lasts many years.

The Better Not Bitter Road

Sure as the sun rises in the East
Life comes at you like a beast.
It’s up to us to make a choice
For that is how we keep our voice.

Each circumstance creates a fork
Choose the right, don’t be a dork.
If you choose the path well trod
It surely won’t lead back to God.

The path least taken is not fun
But it will lead back to God’s Son.
The better path will bring you joy
The bitter path is Satan’s ploy.

Life’s about these different roads
The one we choose creates our loads.
Choose the road that Christ is on
For he will help you carry on.

Let Your Light So Shine

When we choose to do what’s right
Our light will shine to light the night.
Why do we want our light to shine?
I want Christ to say “You are mine”

When we choose the evil path
The pay we get is not good math.
Choosing evil kills our light
And only Christ can make it right.

When we cover up our light
We walk in darkness without sight.
When in darkness we can’t lead
For we can’t see the God we need.

Please don’t hide your precious light
Make it strong with all your might.
This light you have will help someone
And guide them back to God’s own son.

You Are Loved.

You stood in heaven long ago

Longing for when you’d get to go.

Father gave you your last embrace

“Its time you started your own race.”

His pure love was sent with you

For you to share, for it is true.

As you came to live your life

You soon find out there’s lots of strife.

Father’s love is in your heart

And he will never from you part.

The key is to remember love

And that it comes from God above.

Love’s a power that never ends

It just for you and never bends.

Pay no heed to the evil one.

He lost the war and Jesus won.

There are so many who love you

With a love so pure and true.

Hang on to that truth divine

“You are my child and you are mine.”

New beginnings

Today begins another year
A year of faith not of fear.
Another chance for a better me
To follow Christ, and be set free.

The Sword to the Blacksmith

To thee I offer gratitude
Not anger, blame or attitude
You forged me into perfect steel
So evil I would surely kill

Each hammer stroke shapes my blade
Until I’m finished and all made.
Grinding takes off edges rough
Polish makes me smooth and tough.

The hilt and blade are finally fused
I am now ready to be used.
In the masters hand I’ll stay
To conquer evil every day.

Conquer The Enemy

He wanted to be your only God

And force you to hold to the rod.

God the Father made the choice

He let us keep our precious voice.

While Satan now has been cast out

His hatred rages as he shouts.

We have the choice to ignore him

And keep our light from going dim.

We must as dragons fight his fear

And focus on our Savior dear.

As we, into battles go

Our Savior, the way, will always show.

Bruised and broken his body was

For a pure and righteous cause.

He was the only one who could

For his life was perfectly good.

The only things of us he asks

Are rather very simple tasks.

Love Him and others with your heart

And he will do his promised part.

The day will come when the war is done

And we’ll learn it was already won.

Our Savior was the victor sure

When he offered his heart so pure.

So as we leave this life behind

The best we could do was to be kind.

That’s s how you conquer great evil

You seek God’s words and then fulfill

Seek For Everlasting Praise

It starts out when we are quite young
They tell you of a job well done.
It makes your heart feel good inside
But also makes for a bumpy ride.

The praise of man should not be sought
It only lends our souls to rot.
Seek the praise of The true king
And to his glory praises sing.

Worldly praise is like the rain
And like the rain, goes down the drain.
God will give us what we need
So we, on false praise, never feed.

Always seek for what is real
Not just how it makes you feel.
What Jesus Christ can offer you
Is very real and oh so true!!

Father’s Greatest Christmas Gift

I’ll never truly understand
What Jesus Christ did just for me.
He left His holy home on high
And in a lowly manger lie.

He did not seek for worldly cares
His Father’s love is what He shares.
He taught us all that we should do
Follow God and ever be true.

His selfless gift of sacrifice
Was made for me, He paid full price.
He was the only one who could
Do what He did for all our good.

This Christmas focus on His life
And follow Him in spite of strife.
Pick up your cross and do your best
And know He’ll help you with your test.

Seek out those who need His love
And be the hands of Him above.
In giving of our love and time
You’ll feel His love, sweet and sublime.

He is the Father’s greatest gift
He came to save us and uplift.
Give thanks to Father every day
For our dear Savior, that I pray.

Open Arms

You left his presence up on high
To learn and grow and show His love.
We knew it would be worth the pain
As long as we return above.

Mistakes are made by each of us
As we go through this bumpy life.
There is one sure way to have peace
Trust in Christ to have less strife.

At times chaos may seem insane
But know that righteousness has won.
Faith in God will win the day
So keep your eye on God’s own Son.

Your life is marked by many scars
As proof you fought and stood for right.
Jesus Christ waits patiently
With open arms to hold you tight.

In All Give Thanksgiving

Each morning that I take a breath

I’m grateful for another day.

Heavenly Father gives us all

Give thanks to him each day, I pray.

My family is my source of joy

And many times a great big pain.

But therein lies the greatest gift

Without both there is no gain.

Be grateful for the trying times

They forge us into useful tools.

Seek to follow Jesus Christ

Thus you will never be a fool.

This body that I’ve had for years

Has served me well in many ways.

This temple we must always guard

Against the evil of the day.

Gratitude for all these things

Will lift our hearts to Him in praise.

Always seek the King of Kings

That back to Him we all will raise.

Its Worth The Task

From whence does come this dreadful thought
My life is not what I had sought.
I lived my life to follow Him
Why do my chances now seem slim.

I’m sure there’s scriptures that tell me.
If I obey, I’ll be pain free.
But I’ll be damned if I can’t find
One scripture that comes to my mind.

If we expect God’s great reward
We must follow our true Lord.
He asked of us, pick up your cross
You’re not alone, its not a loss.

To climb a mountain takes great work
Why does heaven make us shirk?
Heaven’s rewards are so much more
Than anything we could fight for.

Don’t lose sight of His great plan
Our loving God the Son of Man.
It surely will be worth the wait
When we walk through that heavn’ly gate!

Veteran's Honor

They all decided in their hearts

To serve their country to the end.

All seemed to go as they had planned

But life would come around the bend.

The first ones served with Washington

And gave a life to our great land.

Everything was on the line

The time had come to take a stand.

The civil war brought many tears

As brothers fought against their kin.

There were no winners in this war

But freedom could now return again.

The war to end all other wars

Was never farther from the truth.

Many men would not return

Lives cut short while in their youth.

Many wars have come and gone

It seems as though peace can’t be found.

Many still want to serve their land

That is their call and they are bound.

Filled with pride and dignity

All gave some and some gave all.

Reach to to them and show them love

They need to know they are not small.

Honor’s what they all deserve

A token of their sacrifice.

Never can they be repaid

For they all paid a hefty price!
